Your personal BlackBox
BlackBox is like a flight recorder for your smartphone.
Until you give permission, only you and your phone know where you have been, and when.
Similar to apps like Google Maps or Waze, Blackbox records where you have been using your phone's geo-location. Unlike those apps, the data stays on your phone until you choose to share it.
When you share, you choose whom to share with and how much to share before the phone can disclose any of your location data.
The Blackbox team is testing secure private back-tracing where, if you get sick, you can choose to share your movement history anonymously with the community.
Allowing you to toggle between precise or degraded geo-locations means you can maintain your privacy while helping slow the spread of the virus.
Use the Blackbox nickname feature to share your location privately, just between the two of you - no email address or phone number required

Do Not Disturb
Tired of being woken up in the middle of the night?
Invite friends and colleagues through securely shared nicknames, to see what timezone you're currently in and sleep well despite the jetlag.
Blackbox can publish mathematically generated keys to our blockchain with time and date references.
When you share your data with tax authorities they can check the keys against the immutable public log.
